About this event

Every generation has experienced a major collective, financial crisis (e.g. 1986, 2008, and 2020). These crises affect everyone - even if not equally. Financial behaviorist, Jacquette M. Timmons, will share four simple and timeless habits that will help you manage the financial impact of any crisis on your dreams and goals -- with greater confidence.

Jacquette M. Timmons focuses on the human side of money. She works as a financial behaviorist and is committed to getting you to see that you don't manage money - you manage your choices around money. In addition to being an author ("Financial Intimacy: How to Create a Healthy Relationship with Your Money and Your Mate”), frequent blogger and podcast host, Jacquette is also the creator of The Comfort Circle™ dinner series and “In the Zone: How to Price Your Genius” - a series of pricing events for entrepreneurs and small business owners. Her work has been featured on Minnesota Public Radio, SiriusXM, "Good Morning America," CNN, NPR and the Wall Street Journal. She holds an MBA in finance from Fordham University’s Graduate School of Business and an undergrad in marketing from the Fashion Institute of Technology. Jacquette lives in Brooklyn, NY and can be seen running in Prospect Park most days of the week.

This workshop is part of our fall 2020 series on financial fluency.

The world is full of vexing challenges.

A warming planet, hunger, mis- and disinformation, all of the -isms that keep people from reaching their full potential, just to name a few.

These challenges require creative solutions, but it’s easy to feel overwhelmed. What can we do? Where do we even start?

At the Athena Center for Leadership, we see leaders as, at their core, problem-solvers — and our role as providing Barnard students a wide range of ways to practice solving problems at all scales, all experience-based and available to students from the day they set foot on our campus.

Athena is home to Barnard students who see opportunities in challenges and seize them to build a better world, together — because these are the leaders we need now.
